In Divinópolis, last Thursday (03/31), the official meeting was held to introduce the technical team that won Caixa Econômica Federal’s tender, hired by the bank for consulting services to model and structure a solid waste management and urban cleaning project for the Intermunicipal Landfill Consortium of Central-Western Minas Gerais – CIAS Centro Oeste.

The consulting team is made up of the Institute of Economic Research Foundation (Fipe), engineering advisory firm Planos Engenharia and law firms Felsberg and Giamundo Neto Advogados (GNA).

The consultants aim to structure the entire project, with an economic and financial feasibility analysis, engineering studies and an assessment of social and environmental impacts, as well as an analysis of the main legal and regulatory aspects, in addition to support in preparing the tender documents.

Based on the information gathered, CIAS will receive a recommendation for the model that meets the region’s requirements and will thus be able to seek partners and funding under the federal government’s Investment Partnerships Programs (PPI).

The project covers 35 municipalities belonging to CIAS Centro Oeste: Abaeté, Araújos, Bambuí, Biquinhas, Bom Despacho, Carmo do Cajuru, Cedro do Abaeté, Conceição do Pará, Córrego Danta, Divinópolis, Dores do Indaiá, Estrela do Indaiá, Igaratinga, Leandro Ferreira, Luz, Maravilhas, Martinho Campos, Moema, Morada Nova de Minas, Nova Serrana, Onça de Pitangui, Paineiras, Papagaios, Pequi, Perdigão, Pedra do Indaiá, Pitangui, Pompéu, Quartel Geral, Santo Antônio do Monte, São Gonçalo do Pará, São José da Varginha, São Sebastião do Oeste, Serra da Saudade and Tapiraí, and will benefit around 600,000 people.

On 04/12, the team is scheduled to be presented in Ribeirão Preto to the Mogiana Municipalities Consortium (CMM), to begin work on this other front.
